August Photo-A-Day Challenge

Hello! I know it has been a little while since a post has occurred, which is why I am starting the photo-a-day challenge, again, for August. I'm looking forward to taking pictures again (especially when on vacation in a few weeks)!

Updates!

I haven't updated my blog in over a month! Once I stopped doing the picture challenge, my drive to blog really fell apart. However, this summer I am really going to try to blog, at least once a week.

I have been pretty busy these last few weeks! Here is a quick run down:

1. David and I babysat for his niece and nephew, while their parents went on a much-deserved vacation.

2. I hosted book club at my apartment and even baked some goodies!

3. The Chicago summer has officially hit and I have been enjoying the nice warm weather. David and I have been spending more time on our balcony, whether we are reading, eating a meal, or simply drinking wine and enjoying each other's company.

I am sure more has happened, but that is all for now. I'll end with some pictures.

Day 30: Something That Makes You Sad

Partial signal loss during the NBA Playoffs and the fact that half the Bulls team is hurt, which will hurt their chances of winning. This feels like UNC and the NCAA tournament all over again.

Day 29: Circle

My anniversary present: Pink Beats by Dre headphones! I'm super pumped to try them out.

Day 28: 1 p.m.

At 1 p.m. I was enjoying my first playoff game at the United Center with David. This was the score at that time. It is too bad that Rose is out for the rest of the season, but I still have hope! Go Bulls!

Sorry I am so behind! I have been super busy the last few days and haven't really had a chance to sit down and blog. Here is a picture of my new hair products that I splurged on last week, thanks in part to my tax refund (most of which went into my savings!).

Day 17: Something You Don't Like

I don't like when people stop right in front of me, as I am walking home, to take a picture of this huge Marilyn Monroe statue on Michigan Avenue. While the statue is pretty cool, I'm sure the people who designed it didn't think most of the pictures of the statue would be of men pretending to look up her skirt. Classy.

Day 16: Flower

These flowers are the centerpieces in the lobby of our apartment building. I believe they change just about every week.

Day 15: Sunset

Obviously, I did not take this picture. On Sunday night it was really stormy outside, so I didn't get a chance to see the sunset. Even with our windows facing west, it is hard to see a sunset, due to all the tall buildings. However, I imagine it looks something like this!

Day 14: How You Feel Today

Today David and I finally went to Lucky Brand Jeans to buy some new jeans! With the discovered hole in my favorite pair and a shortage of jeans on David's part, it was time for new jeans. After breakfast we walked down Michigan to the store and got three pairs each. We were going to stop by my church, so that David could finally see it, but it started to rain, so we headed home. Maybe that can be something to check off the list next weekend!

Day 11: Where You Ate Breakfast

At my desk! Today I was super busy, so I only had time for a V8 Fusion (the can was already in the recycling when I took this picture), but it was really filling and so good.

Day 10: Cold

I am so sad that the weather went from the 80s one week to the 30s the next week. With all the lovely spring clothes out in the windows on Michigan, I am ready for warm weather! I actually had to wear a scarf and gloves today, which made me pretty sad.

The summer of 2006. Gotta love that I have a cast and Sara has a boot, both due to soccer injuries over time. What a great day!
